What's happening this Earth Week/Day in the lower mainland?


While we should do our best for the Earth every day and not just on one day or for one week, Earth Week is a time to bring to light global issues of climate change, pollution, and unsustainable development, as well as a chance to gather and take collective action together.


Here are just a few of the things happening this Earth Week in the lower mainland but we encourage you to check out what's happening in your area and get involved!


UBC Sustainability: What can Mother Trees Teach Us About Climate Justice? An Earth Week special on old growth forests and climate change featuring Mother Trees, climate litigation, and Indigenous knowledge.

A public talk (online & in person), Thursday April 21 2022, 4PM - 5.30PM PDT


Party for the Planet celebrates Earth Day, and is the City of Surrey’s premier environmental event. Entering its 11th year in 2022, the event will be hosted in-person on Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Surrey Civic Plaza.


A Great Canadian Shoreline Clean Up collaboration by Sea Smart, NADA, and Surfrider to celebrate Earth Day. Meet at the parking lot on Arbutus and McNicoll St. Sat, April 23, 2022, 10:00 AM – 1:30 PM PDT


Stanley Park: Earth Day Celebration

Join us on Saturday, April 23rd for a day of earth-friendly action and awareness.

WHERE: Beside the Stanley Park Brewing Restaurant and Brewpub in Stanley Park.

WHEN: Drop by any time between 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.


Join us this Earth Week on Saturday, April 23rd at Green Living from 10AM to 2PM at the Mission Leisure Centre. Guest Speakers + Activities + Exhibitors


This year, the Celebrate Earth Day Planning Committee is encouraging residents to journey down “Pathways to a Better Normal.” We will see you at Memorial Peace Park from 10am – 2pm on Saturday, April 23, 2022 to kick off festival season in Maple Ridge.


We will be removing invasive Himalayan blackberry from Terra Nova Rural Park in Richmond to celebrate Earth Week
